ATLAS Summary

ATLAS (Attaining Truth, Love And Self-Control) is a non-profit, non-denominational organization that exists to assist the local body of Christ in fulfilling the great commission.  Our simple strategy is to enfold those seeking our services into a small group of Christ followers, establish a sense of trust and safety, and then help them learn how to breathe spiritually by inhaling the Word of God and exhaling their faults, fears and failures.  Instead of offering a handout or quick fix to their problems, we offer the most valuable human resource, a reliabe friend that can help them discover their identity in Christ.  Our vision is that after a period of growth and maturing in Christ, every person we place in a small group would one day turn around and freely give to others what has been freely given to them.

We are focused on building up and sending out missionary-minded people to touch lives for Christ right here in Sioux Falls, SD.  In a recent survey it was discovered that nearly 75% of the population in Sioux Falls is not a part of a church family.  The Church of Sioux Falls will have spent millions of dollars collectively to fund missionaries all over the world while 75% of our ‘neighbors’ remain outside the fellowship of the body of Christ…this is not ok and we need to change this statistic!  The compelling vision that will move us towards this change is not anything new, rather it’s returning to the practices that brought about unprecedented conversion and spiritual growth written about in the book of Acts where Christians were: “devoting themselves to the apostle’s teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.  Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.  All the believers were together and had everything in common.  Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.  Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts.  They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.  And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
